The “Dark Joke” of Having a Climate Summit in Azerbaijan

The upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Egypt will draw global attention to the urgent need to address climate change. However, experts are raising concerns about the suitability of holding the event in Azerbaijan due to the country’s poor environmental record. Azerbaijan has been criticized for its heavy reliance on fossil fuels, lack of renewable energy development, and poor air quality. Environmentalists argue that the choice of Baku as the host city sends a contradictory message about the world’s commitment to tackling climate change. They believe that holding the summit in a country with such a poor environmental record undermines the credibility of the international community and its efforts to combat climate change.

So, Can We Trust the Polls?

The recent election cycle has reignited debate about poll accuracy. Some claim polls accurately predicted the outcome, while others argue they were widely off the mark. This has raised the question: Can we trust the polls?

Polls rely on probability sampling, which selects a small group of people to represent a larger population. This can be problematic if the sample is not representative of the population in terms of demographics, political affiliation, and other factors.

In addition, people may be reluctant to answer poll questions truthfully or may change their minds between answering the poll and voting.

Despite these limitations, polls can provide valuable insights into public opinion. By understanding the potential biases and limitations of polls, we can better use them to make informed decisions about the political landscape.

Democrats Should Let Trump Be Trump

The Democrats may believe that by hindering Trump or any of his accomplishments they will get one over on the almost half of America that voted for him and that by doing so they will increase their chances in the midterm elections. However, if the Democrats are too adversarial, it will increase the likelihood that Trump will be elected for a second term. That is not good for the country. Trump was elected because of the elitist attitudes of those in power who are Democrats. Now, if the Democrats win in 2018 and 2020 it will only be because they ran on returning power to the people. It will not be because they tried to obstruct and control the people’s power.
